About
Welcome to Bogie's Barber Shop, a hidden gem tucked away at 837 E Westfield Blvd in Indianapolis. With a charming and straightforward atmosphere, this one-chair establishment boasts a no-frills approach that stands in stark contrast to the boisterous, trendy salons that dominate the hair care scene. Here, it's all about the craft of barbering, perfected over the years by the skilled hands of Larry, the resident barber, whose reputation precedes him.
Customers rave about their experiences at Bogie's, with many noting the impressive level of service and the artistry behind each haircut. Kraig Buening captures this sentiment perfectly, highlighting how Larry transformed a colleague’s appearance into a “masterpiece of perfection” that left him brimming with newfound confidence. It’s this personal touch and attention to detail that sets Bogie’s apart. Each haircut aims not just to meet expectations but to exceed them, ensuring that patrons leave looking sharp and feeling great.
With prices that make hair care accessible (a standard cut is just $13), Bogie's has cultivated a loyal following. Aaron Ransdell, a decade-long customer, emphasizes the consistency and quality that keep him returning, stating that it's “the best haircut on the Northside.” This testament speaks volumes about the value offered at this barbershop, proving that you don’t need fancy decor or elaborate gimmicks to provide an exceptional experience. Instead, the real deal is all about great conversations, reliable service, and top-notch haircuts—all delivered in an unpretentious setting.
For many, the experience at Bogie's Barber Shop is likened to visiting an old friend. Frank Brewer and Katherine White both support this idea, noting the welcoming atmosphere and Larry's ability to communicate with clients throughout the haircut. Katherine's son left looking polished and ready for anything, thanks to the careful consideration given to each aspect of his style. Larry’s commitment to ensuring that every haircut aligns with the client’s vision, combined with small touches like eyebrow trims and warm shaving cream, encapsulates everything a customer could ask for.
If you're exploring Broad Ripple or the surrounding areas, make it a point to stop by Bogie's Barber Shop. The consistent quality, unbeatable value, and the warmth of the service will undoubtedly make it a standout in your haircare routine. With so many testimonials singing its praises, one can confidently say that Bogie’s is one of the best-kept secrets that deserves your attention. So don’t delay—let Larry work his magic and walk out of Bogie’s feeling like the best version of yourself!
“ My coworker Alex arrived at work today looking like a big man on campus. Larry worked his scissor magic and constructed a masterpiece of perfection on Alex's noggin. The fade is smooth, crisp, and more fresh than a Georgia peach in mid July. Each individual hair appears to be handled with the ultimate care and measured to the exact millimeter. His confidence level is now at an all time high. He's even considered doing some modeling on the side simply due to his new dew. I high recommend Larry for all of your hair needs and wants. He will exceed your expectations! ”
“ I've been going to see Larry at Bogie's for at least a decade. Yeah, I've gone to a few other places during that time but never got the consistency, quality and value I get at Bogie's. It's the best haircut on the Northside, or anywhere in Indianapolis in my experience. It's a "no-frills" real deal barber shop. No fancy product displays, no shabby chic decor with a dozen tatted up bearded guys drinking hamms or PBRs waiting to cut your hair....just one chair, one man, financial news streaming on the TV and regular ol chit chat. If you're getting your haircut elsewhere you're making a mistake and probably getting ripped off. ”
“ Great place. One man shop. These negative reviews are unfair I think. It's a men's barbershop and his hours are clearly mentioned on the door. Anyway, I haven't found a better barber in my 5 years in Broad Ripple. ”
“ Larry does a great job and at the best price in town. Might be a bit crowded at times, but there's a reason for that. Standard cut (only 13!) gets you a haircut, eyebrow trim, warmed shaving cream w/ a straight razor trim around your hairline, and product. Another place 0.5 mile from my home in Fishers offers a comparable service for 35 vs Larry's 13 - that's why I'll gladly keep driving down to BRipple. ”
“ My son went in looking like a mop head. And he came out looking sharp! Zach shared that the barber (who I assume is the illustrious Bogey?) chatted with him, checked in with him to be sure the cut was correct, offered to trim his facial hair, and styled his hair...and charged 13! Bogie's is one of the best kept secrets in midtown, I think. He's got a new customer or three, because my husband and younger son were equally impressed. Thanks, Bogey! ”
“ Love this place. Old school barbershop but not in a try-hard way. Really good haircuts for a great price (13) and good barbershop conversation. Wait times can be a little long (60-90 minutes) if you don't time your visit right. Most of the guys in my office go there now as well. ”
“ Fast, quality haircut every time for 13 and comes with a neckline shave with a straight razor. Every other place within a few blocks wants to charge you 25 to 30. I've been to those too and I don't see anything they do that's worth 5 bucks more much less more than double the price. Never had a negative experience here and I've been going for a couple years now. He's even stayed late past closing time when I've showed up kind of last minute when the shop would have been closing normally. ”
“ Not sure what the gentleman’s name is, but he gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve ever received. Super polite, great cut at a great price. Even used a straight edge on my neck and around my ears which was amazing! Will absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone. ”
